The Eternal Fusion universe powers three products: EFER (3D RPG on Roblox), EFURC (trading card game), EFEMM (match-3 with card battle). This is the EFER vs EFURC comparison.
What EFER is
EFER (Eternal Fusion: Eternal Realms) is a faction RPG on Roblox. You pick a faction, claim territory in the contested zone, build outposts, defend against waves and rival players, and escalate through reputation. The 30-day reset is the central design pillar.
EFER is **3D**. You walk around the world. You fight in third-person. You build with the in-game building tools. You chat with other players in real time.
EFER is **real-time**. The night raids hit at server hour 6 and 18. The contested zone is always contested. Players are online.
EFER is **multiplayer**. You can play solo (the AI factions fill in), but the real game is against other humans.
What EFURC is
EFURC (Eternal Fusion Unleashed: Realms Collide) is a trading card game. You build a 30-card deck from the 55-card v0.1 pool, queue into a match, play cards on your turn, respond on their turn. The match ends when one hero’s HP hits zero.
EFURC is **2D**. You play on a card-battle board. No walking, no building, no real-time world.
EFURC is **turn-based**. Each match takes 5–12 minutes. You can pause, walk away, come back. There’s no time pressure during a turn.
EFURC is **asynchronous or live**. You can play live matches against other humans, or play against AI opponents at any time.
Which one should you play first
**If you like world-exploration and real-time combat**, start with EFER. EFER has the larger world, the longer play sessions, the more social interaction. EFER is the “live in the world” game.
**If you like deck-building and strategy**, start with EFURC. EFURC has 55 cards at launch, 3 viable archetypes per faction, real meta development. EFURC is the “build a deck, win matches” game.
**If you like both**, do both. The lore is the same. The factions are the same. The 9 Primordial Essences are the same. You can play EFER to learn the factions, then play EFURC to deepen your engagement.
The lore argument
The lore is canon-locked at 22 factions / 9 essences / 5 realms / 4 named NPCs. Both games use the same canon. EFER is the world; EFURC is the cards. EFEMM is the match-3.
Reading the lore book deepens both games. The lore book is on Gumroad (paperback + Kindle + PDF). Free chapters at /lore-sample/.
The practical argument
EFER is free on Roblox. EFURC v0.1 playtest is free. Try both. The lore book costs $9.99–$14.99.
What to play this week
- **EFER**: pick Alliance (best for new players), play through the attunement quest, claim one contested outpost, defend one night raid.
- **EFURC**: pick the suggested Alliance starter deck, play 10 matches, see where the meta develops.
Both are free. Both teach you the lore. Both are worth your time.
