The Eternal Fusion lore book will be available on Amazon KDP (paperback + Kindle) and on Gumroad (PDF). The paperback uses print-on-demand (POD), not a traditional print run. Here is why.
What print-on-demand means
Amazon KDP prints the book when someone orders it. The book is not pre-printed. There is no inventory. The book lives as a digital master + a cover file. Amazon presses one copy, ships it, prints the next when the next order comes in.
What a traditional print run means
A print run is 500+ copies printed up-front. The publisher stores them in a warehouse. They ship when ordered. Unsold copies get remaindered (pulped) or sold at deep discount.
Why we chose POD
Zero inventory risk. If the book sells 50 copies, Amazon prints 50. If it sells 5,000, Amazon prints 5,000. There is no “what if nobody buys it” risk. There is no remaindering.
Royalty is 60% on POD (vs. 8–15% on traditional publishing). The trade-off is slightly higher per-unit cost. For a niche lore book, that is fine. The audience does not need a $9.99 price point — they want the book.
What this means for you
The book ships from an Amazon facility near you. Standard Amazon shipping applies. The cover is the same as a traditionally-printed book (full color, matte finish, 300 DPI). The interior is the same as a traditionally-printed book (cream paper, B&W interior, perfect bound).
The only thing different: if you order the book at 11pm on a Sunday, it does not ship until Amazon prints it Monday morning.

Amazon KDP lets you pre-order. The book is not yet on Amazon (we are finalizing the manuscript). Sign up for the waitlist by joining the Discord at /community/ and reacting to the lore-book channel. Waitlist members get a launch-day discount code.
The book is already on Gumroad at $9.99 PDF / $14.99 paperback. If you want it now, that’s the fastest path.
The full KDP manuscript
The KDP manuscript outline is at /kdp/. 320 pages, 8 chapters, 6×9 trim, perfect bound. The manuscript structure mirrors the Gumroad PDF structure, with one addition: a print-only chapter on art notes + acknowledgments.
When does the KDP paperback launch?
Q4 2026. The manuscript is in progress (per the KDP page). When the manuscript is locked, the proof is ordered. When the proof is approved, the paperback ships.
The PDF and Kindle versions ship first (Q3 2026). The paperback follows once the print master is finalized.
Why this matters for the business
A POD paperback is the lowest-risk path to physical books. It costs nothing up-front. It prints on demand. It pays 60% royalty. It reaches Amazon’s entire customer base.
The alternative — a traditional print run — costs $5,000+ up-front, requires warehouse space, requires shipping logistics, and risks remaindering.
POD is the right answer for a niche lore book. It is also the right answer for any creator who wants to ship physical books without inventory risk.
