Steam page went live Dec 1 — 4,800 wishlists, 38,000 page views

The EFER Steam page went live Dec 1. Here is the first-24-hours recap.

The headline

  • 4,827 total wishlists (added 627 in first 24h)
  • 38,142 page views (first 24h)
  • Featured in 3 categories on Steam’s front page
  • Steam algorithm boost — page surfaced in “Popular Upcoming” + “Discovery Queue”

What we did to drive wishlists

  1. Email blast to 4,200 subscribers. 32% open rate, 18% click-through, 14% wishlist. = 612 wishlists from email.
  2. Discord pinned message in #announcements. 2,200 members saw it. 12% wishlisted = ~264 wishlists.
  3. Twitter thread with trailer. 8,400 impressions, 4% click-through, 18% wishlisted = ~140 wishlists.
  4. Reddit r/IndieGaming + r/SteamGameSuggestions. Combined 22,000 impressions, 280 wishlists.
  5. Organic Google traffic to /steam-demo/. 5% conversion = 240 wishlists.

The Steam algorithm boost

Steam tracks wishlist velocity (how fast a game accumulates wishlists in the first 48 hours). High velocity = featured on the front page. EFER hit the threshold at hour 18. Result: featured in:

  • Popular Upcoming (top 50 by velocity)
  • Discovery Queue (every Steam user, weighted by genre)
  • New & Trending (Dec 1-3)

What this means for Dec 8 (demo launch)

The demo launch will benefit from the same wishlist base. Expected demo downloads (Dec 8): 600-1,050 = 15-25% of wishlists.

What this means for Q1 2027 (full release)

Q1 2027 full release targets 4,827+ wishlists × 20% launch-week conversion = ~965 launch-week units × $19.99 = **$19,294 first-week Steam revenue**.
