EFURC v0.2.1 ships Nov 10. The first balance patch. Here is what changed.
Buffs
- Void-touched — changed from “if you have 10+ life, +2/+2” to “if you have 8+ life, +2/+2.” Now triggers in the early-mid game, not just the late game.
- Echo — now triggers on death AND on bounce (returned to hand). Doubles the synergy with Clockwork Engine.
- Honor Duel (Eastern) — costs reduced from 6 to 5 mana. Now a viable turn-4 play.
Nerfs
- Sylvan Communion — heal reduced from 3 to 2 life per turn. Still strong, no longer format-warping.
- Void-Touched Scholar — discard cost increased from 1 to 1 card + 1 life. Still the engine of Void decks, but with a real downside.
What we expect the meta to look like
The Sylvan Heal deck drops from 28% to ~20% of the meta. Void decks rise to ~25%. Eastern Honor breaks into the top 5. Clockwork Engine stays at ~18%.
What we learned from v0.2
- Echo was stronger than expected. It is now in 41% of decks. We added the bounce trigger to push it from “format-defining” to “format-shaping.”
- Void-touched was weaker than expected. Only 12% of decks used it. The trigger threshold was too high.
- Eastern Honor surprised us. Nobody predicted it. The buff makes it a tier-1 deck.
