How I grew the EFER Discord to 2,000 members (without ads)

EFER Discord grew from 50 members (Jan 2026) to 2,000 members (Oct 2026). No ads, no influencers, no sponsors. Here is how.

The 4-channel strategy

  1. #announcements — release news, lore book drops, T-shirt launches. Read-only for most members.
  2. #general — open chat. The heart of the community.
  3. #faction-chat — 8 sub-channels, one per faction. The lore-discussion hub.
  4. #lore-suggestions — where the community pitches faction ideas. The chapter 7-8 Arctic + Eastern theses came from this channel.

The daily activity loop

  1. Every morning: post a “today’s build” screenshot. Shows what is shipping.
  2. Every Tuesday: post a “faction thesis poll” — 4 questions, 1 winner. Builds engagement.
  3. Every Friday: announce the T-shirt drop. The 4-channel Discord goes live.
  4. Every Sunday: post a “chapter excerpt” from the lore book. The Discord becomes a teaser funnel.

Why this works

The Discord is not a marketing channel. It is a community channel. Every post makes the members feel like they are part of the project. That feeling is what makes them tell their friends. The “tell your friends” loop is what grows the server.

The conversion-to-lore-book math

2,000 Discord members × 5% lore book conversion rate = 100 lore book sales. 100 sales × $9.99 = $999 in lore book revenue per month, attributable to Discord. The Discord pays for itself in lore book sales alone.

What this means for your community

If you are building a Roblox game, build the Discord. The Discord is the highest-LTV asset you own.
