How I priced the Faction Bundle at $149.99 (and why it converts)

Pricing a bundle is the most underpriced lever in indie game dev. Here is the math behind the Faction Bundle.

The component prices

  • Lore book: $9.99
  • 7 faction T-shirts: $22 × 7 = $154
  • EFURC v0.2 early access: $19.99 (estimated value)
  • Steam demo priority access: $9.99

Sum of components: $193.97

The bundle price

$149.99 (save $43.98)

Why this price point works

  1. It is under $200. Buyers anchor to the $200 line. $149.99 feels like a bargain.
  2. The savings are real. 23% off is meaningful — not so deep that buyers think the components are worthless, not so shallow that buyers think “why bother.”
  3. It targets Steam buyers, not Roblox buyers. Steam buyers have higher disposable income. Roblox buyers (mostly under-18) don’t have $149 to spend. The bundle is for the adult fan.

What the math looks like

50 bundle sales/month × $149.99 = $7,500/month from one product. That is a full-time salary from a single product line.

What this means for your products

If you have a Roblox game with merch, a lore book, and a TCG, build the bundle. The bundle is the highest-AOV product you can ship.
