EFURC v0.2 launch recap — 1,200 players, 4,200 matches, 32 new cards

EFURC v0.2 launched Oct 20. Here are the numbers from the first 7 days.

The headline

  • 1,247 unique players
  • 4,213 matches played
  • 3.4 average matches per player
  • 67% retention (played 2+ matches)

The top 3 decks

  1. Sylvan Heal — 28% of meta. The dominant strategy. Outlast + heal is hard to beat.
  2. Cursed Void — 22% of meta. Discard + drain. Aggressive but consistent.
  3. Clockwork Engine — 18% of meta. Mana ramp + tokens. Slow but inevitable.

The 3 new mechanics — how they played

  • Echo — used in 41% of decks. Strong but not format-warping.
  • Resonance — used in 18% of decks. Niche but powerful when it triggers.
  • Void-touched — used in 12% of decks. Underpowered — needs a buff in v0.2.1.

The biggest surprise

The Eastern faction. Nobody predicted the Eastern Honor deck to break into the top 5. It uses tribute mechanics to ramp into 8-cost cards by turn 6 — a turn faster than any other deck.

What this means for v0.2.1

Void-touched needs a buff. Sylvan Heal might need a nerf (28% of meta is dominance territory). Eastern Honor deserves more support cards.
