Most Roblox devs think there is one way to monetize: Gamepasses. There are at least 7. Here is each one with the actual revenue numbers I have seen.
1. Gamepasses (the default)
One-time purchases in-game. Revenue per active player: $0.10-0.50/year. EFER Gamepass revenue: ~$200/month.
2. Premium payouts (Roblox Premium)
Roblox pays you per Premium player who visits your game. Revenue per Premium visit: $0.005-0.020. EFER Premium payouts: ~$150/month.
3. Dev products (consumables)
In-game consumables. Boost XP, boost drops, currency packs. Revenue per active player: $0.50-2.00/year. EFER dev products: ~$80/month (testing).
4. Merch (TeePublic, Redbubble)
T-shirts, hoodies, mugs. Revenue per design: $200-500/year. 8 EFER faction designs: ~$2,000/year.
5. Lore book (Gumroad, Kindle)
Digital product, 60,000 words. Revenue per copy: $7-9 (after fees). EFER lore book: ~$3,000/year at 30 sales/month.
6. Courses (Udemy, Skillshare)
Teach what you learned. “Build a Roblox game from scratch.” Revenue per student: $10-30. 1,000 students/year: $10,000-30,000.
7. Sponsorships (creator funds, brand deals)
Brand integrations, sponsored content. Revenue per deal: $500-10,000. 1-2 deals/year: $1,000-20,000.
The math
Gamepasses alone: $200/month. All 7 routes: $1,500-3,000/month. The diversification is what turns a side project into a business.
